Subject: RE: Hay Profitability

Just like most crops, better to walk them off the farm than truck them off. Plus with a diversifying operation with livestock using more than 50-75% of raised crops. You'll cash flow better than straight crops. Our goal is to increase livestock to utilize our hay production, as we add ground we then add more livestock. Ask all straight crop, hay and grain outfits in western states how they are doing without the export market right now. This last year in our area was big turnover in ownership of hay ground. Guess who's buying, guys with livestock.
