I just found out that we are now basically bound by Monsanto to purchase Asgrow/DeKalb from the dealer we purchased from last year. I was told that other dealers are now not allowed to sell to another dealers customers without losing their commission on the sale which basically means they lose money. I will typically price from several different retailers/dealers to get the best deal. To me this is their way to fix prices and also to weed out the smaller volume dealers that can not stand to lose any commission whereas the larger dealer could stand to take a commission hit this year just to gain the business for future years. And then charge you what they want. Like I said to me it is price fixing plain and simple. What does this sound like to you? It looks like some one else in my family will be making the seed purchases this year!!!!!!!
