Subject: Tomatoes Ouestion!

SC, IA.

As most farmers are also gardeners, I'd like to ask if Tomatoes are a better dry land plant or do better in a wet enviornment? Sounds like a stupid question, I'm sure, but I have some plants along the cornfield, which is too dry right now, and they seem to be doing OK for the dry conditions. I have some at home, which we water regularly, and they seem to be rotting at the bottom of the stem and not producing as well.

Should I have treated the home plants less and made them root down stronger?

Just wondering, not a big deal, but I know that there are vegetable farmers out there that know much more that I do about tomatoes.

Thanks for any info on this!
