Subject: Flooding....

Woodbury county
With all the flooding all along the eastern United States, are there many areas where corn and soybean fields are being lost? Here in northwest and western Iowa we can't get any precipitation at all. The month of June so far totals .2 of an inch and the month of May was the third driest on record. We have the next three days of low to mid 90s in our forecast which is really going to take a toll on especially the corn. Have a neighbor who raises a quite a bit of sweet corn each year and then sits along the highway selling each summer. He disked up his entire sweet corn patch a couple of days ago.....said there was nothing left. Now we are looking at the coming month of July, which is normally hot and dry.
