Subject: JD 930 flex feeding problems

Soutwest Ks.
Have a 1995 930 flex, trying to cut RR beans. Beans are short and want to bunch up in front of the auger until enough material builds up which shoves the whole mess through plugging the feederhouse. How do you get these heads to feed even? Is this something that everybody fights with flex heads? Haven't owned a flex head for 6 years, now I'm beginning to understand why!!!! Head is getting shined up fairly well, seems to be in relatively good condition overall with pickup reel. Reel tines are fairly short in places. Oh incidentally this is mounted on a 9600.
