Illinois | Was changing some 10 ply pickup tires the other day, and my problem is on the 1st bead, trying to get it over the halfway point on the rim, so it will stay there and not pop back off, and then I can pry it over the rest of the way around. Using vise grips to hold the bead, and keep trying to get it over the halfway part, so I can finish that bead is a pain. After that point, it’s a breeze getting the rest of the first bead on, and then the second bead. Any advice? I’ve got a bunch of different tire tools, but none will work to grab the far side of the rim to pull the tire over that far. | |
