Subject: Oil in antifreeze story

Lapel, In
Happened at Indianapolis Raceway Park about 45 years ago during NHRA Nationals. The crew was besides themselves.Their car had an automatic transmission cooler line split and caused transmission oil to get in the radiator. They didn't know what to do and thought their season had just come to an end, when a smart alec young boy about 15 or16 who was watching the whole episode asked them why they didn't just fill the radiator with transmission fluid. They did and I don't remember how they finished but they got another run because of a wet behind the ears kid.
I always liked that story and NO I was not involved in any way.I was just working at a Ford dealership where lots of the racers came to borrow tools etc.lol, bob
