Subject: Sand in my Powerstroke

After a costly breakdown, I finally found out what was wrong with my 6.0l Powerstroke's aux. cooling fan for staying on all the time and the engine being sluggish. There certainly was a plug in the system, but the plug was not in a line, it was sand in the strainer for the oil pump (according to the diesel tech, a location that no foreign material, like sand, could possible find its way into unless it came from deep within). The sand is casting sand used during the casting of the block, not all must have been cleaned out (a Navistar issue). Long story short, Ford does not want to have anything to do with this problem accept to advise on what to do to resolve, cost sharing of any kind, even though the root of this matter originated on the side of a mfg's supplier long before the truck was ever made. What's a person to do?
