Subject: birds on cables

We installed an auger between our bins with cables bracing it over a 55 foot span. The problem is that the sparrows sit on the wires and the manure completely covers the bin roofs in a few weeks... How can we keep the birds from sitting on the cables? Getting rid of the birds is not an option since we are a hog farm and have been trying for decades, but are always repopulated in a short time.

Could we slip some corrugated 4 inch plastic tile on the cables or would they still sit on them.

Thanks
