Southeast Wyoming | I agreed but I do not think it is that simple. I believe that they are afraid for their lives, and rightfully so. I think our "political correctness" will be our downfall. If we would adopt the profiling necessary to track the offenders, I do not believe that the "good Muslims" would, or at least they should not, object to some major inconvenience in the interest of being rid of the radicals. If they truely recognise the problem, brief detainment for proper id should not be a source of anger. On the other hand, the radical agenda appears to be a patient one and the lack of signs of anger are no indication of the inner rage. We may need to be less general in our approach to the problem, and recognise, and be open to, attempts to reach out by those with no radical agenda, regardless of how masked that out stretched hand may need to be. At the same time, I suspect that even "good Muslims" have much rage programmed into their being, awaiting for the programmed trigger. We must never let down our guard; "Do not trust, but verify." |
