Suey has a pretty thorough list. I would add: whole wheat flour, bran. flaxseed, poppyseed. dates.

I usually keep the pantry stocked with first course fixin's. If I'm out of an ingredient, I'll find another recipe to try until I get to the grocery store.
I keep mushroom soup, tomato soup, onion soup mix, broad noodles, pasta (several kinds) chicken broth, pearl barley.
That should round out my freezer inventory of veggies, beef and chickens, and the root cellar of potatoes, turnips, and onions. Usually I can come up with a meal of somesort out of those ingredients.
