Buying a mattress is a hard thing to do. It's next to impossible to compare apples to apples. I ruled out the Select Comfort because of the possible problems down the road, anything that holds air is eventually gonna leak. According to the previous posts, maybe I did the right thing ruling that one out. I eventually settled on the Tempurpedic, I'm actually in my second month of 3 months trial. It's very different from a conventional spring mattress and takes quite a bit of "getting used to". I have a friend who's had one for 8 yrs and really likes it. One complaint that I hear from some people is that it's hot during the summer months, that hasn't been a problem to me during Dec. and Jan. I'm just not sure that it's worth 2 1/2 times the price of a good conventional. I have another 5 wks to decide.
