Back in the 80s part of the problem was that banks were in trouble. If you seen the bank examiners walk in the bank, you could almost bet that in a couple weeks someone would have a sale bill up. Seems Volcker was on tv news daily. Hated the saying from loan officer ( I’ll have to see what the loan committee says). Some banks were renewing operating notes on a 3 month bases. Farming is basicly a yearly income operation. Put interest on interest at 18% before the crop comes in. The 70s made an 80s storm. They’re not going to make more land. Yes that’s right but there will always be land for sale. Once we eat through the Covid helicopter money,things will come down to a more reality. Unless they just keep throwing more gas on the fire. Watch the value of the dollar.
