No, I'd ask for other collateral. They could borrow that way in a marginable brokerage account, but they may not like the rate.
Since LOCs are often secured by blanket security agreements and or mortgage, it's often no big deal at all. Some just prefer to turn off interest right away when money comes in and advance back onto the loan when they need to spend. Mathematically they do save money.
