Subject: Shutting down a hog operation

I'm in my retirement years and considering options on my hog finisher operation. If I were to choose to shut it down, I am wondering what steps do you suppose I would have to take. I'm not really asking about legal requirements here because they will differ greatly from state to state and with the size of the operation. The finisher is a shallow pit with flush to an earthen lagoon. I'm mainly concerned with the lagoon. Currently have a farmer that pumps the lagoon yearly but what would need to be done assuming a final pump out after the hogs leave. What steps follow that?
