Some areas the spreader couldn't run because I had pasture fence up. All of the areas that weren't fertilized yielded at least double the fertilized areas. The problem was..........late spring got really dry, and the top dressed wheat grew too much and was thicker so it burned up. That year I had about 1400 acres of pretty poor wheat........and 100 acres respectable.
I guess my point.............is that for sure top dressing doesn't always work here. And probably in a good part of the western wheat growing areas the potential is similar. | |
