ecmn | Has there never been cattle in the area before?
I would not look at yield as a determining factor if this works. But anybody and everybody would agree that if you had cattle out there , you could probably really reduce your purchased inputs to grow the same crop , you would have grown.
I could have the cattle grazing on an alfalfa field in the spring and then terminate it and put corn in there and have a really nice corn field with pretty much no inputs.
Or that same field could have been soybeans the previous year and I could buy a lot of inputs and grow Pretty much the same yield.
