I wouldn't give much hope in building boron levels.  At least not on my sub 10 CEC soils.

Some say you can achieve one pound of boron for every 1000 pounds of calcium.  But I have not the experience to collaborate that.  Probably would be worth a try though.

Sidedressing and/or Y-dropping nitrogen on corn would be a good time to apply some boron.  Even with a R-1 fungicide application, adding some boron would be of benefit to the corn, I believe.
