Subject: church manners

Amherst WI
Just got back form church. Like every other Sunday it seems like 10-15% of the members come in late, after the service starts. The only watch I carry on me is my cell phone, which is in the car so I can't say for sure but there was even a few families that came in at least 10 min late(we were two hymns in!) A cell phone went off towards the end of the service. Kids were running wild and making all kinds of noise. It's been a while but I don't recall acting like that in church when I was younger, I would have got a swat in the head! We didn't have snacks, toys or books during service either. Many people also leave right after communion too, when there is 5 mins of the service left too.

I grew up in a small country Lutheran church that would have between 35-50 in attendance each Sunday and I don't remember anything like this. I go to a very large Catholic church now in town and it seems like Chaos. I would gues there is 300-400 in attendance each service. I'm not saying it is a Catholic thing or a Lutheran thing, I don't know if it is the times or since the church I attend now is larger if people think they can "sneak" in and not be noticed.

I am by no means even close to perfect, but you would think if were trying to get into heaven you could at least try a little harder to get to the place to find out how. Just irritates me that people act like this.

Are your Churches like this?
