I agree. I see similar things in our Church. Had someone with a cell phone go off this weekend too. We also see about 1/4 of the crowd leave right after Communion - they all usually sit in back and it really clears out.
We had a Priest about 5 yrs ago that put a halt to it. NOBODY left that Church until the service was OVER. The only ones getting away with it were visitors who didn't know the rules. Our current Priest will not allow loud talking or carrying on before service starts - he's had a "talking to" with a few parishioners and put a stop to it, but the people leaving early doesn't seem to bother him. I usher almost every weekend and have often thought that positioning ushers at the back by the exits would prevent some of that - people are less apt to bail out if they have to walk past someone - especially someone like me who might ask them what the hurry is! ;)
On the other hand, despite what I see going on in our Church that I feel is disrespectful, I have attended a few services in churches of other denominations and was shocked at some of the things I saw going on. Others have been very quiet and orderly - some moreso than our church.
