There is an interesting contrast between scriptural accounts of Jesus speaking and what is "expected" at "church". It seems like there was something about a man being lowered through the roof - and much about crowds gathering after Jesus began to teach. I do not recall the gateways being barred during the service. I've determined that a lot depends on what our focus is upon. When did God arrive at the church? If we arrive "late", does that mean that we arrived after God has left? Kids will be kids, treating them in an unGodly manner is what distracts from the message. I believe The Word of God is worthy of attention dispite daily things which could distract us if we focus upon those distactions. I attend church primarily to hear a lesson from The Word of God, and to worship God. I believe that "fellowship" is also important but we've all seen churches develop standards of behavior not supported by scriptures. |
