West | So thinking about next year. Do any of you try to figure your cash sale “targets” on a % ROI instead of trying to look at a chart or something? Maybe this is dumb but here’s an example.
Let’s say for example my break even per bushel on corn is $3.82/ bu. I wouldn’t want just a 4-5% return because why should I mess with it? I could simply put my $$ in secure funds like a CD and make the same return. So let’s say I want to make 20% return.
3.82 x .20 = .76 cents
So, I would want to focus on making sales at or above $4.58 cash to achieve this.
Do any of you do take an approach like this or have any parameters you use? | |
