Yes, I’ve done a number of these. Total digestion is another name, but same principle. Typically find that 8-12% of the total nutrient is “plant available” (regular soil test). Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Total Nutrients analysis results are like your fixed assets on the balance sheet. Plant available is what is in the working checking account. If you have more in your checking account you can do more (ie grow a bigger crop). Ideally your fixed assets are spinning off some revenue each year that can be added to the checking account; in this analogy some of the fixed P and K becomes plant available, perhaps through good biology.
