Subject: RE: church manners

This is quite a thread . I suppose it proves that every congrgation, everywhere is going through many of the same trends. I'll add my story to the rest.
My wife and I attended the church I grew up in until about 7 years ago. At that time there there were less than 50 people week after week and My two kids were
usually (not always) the only children there. It broke my heart to watch the little country church dying. The kids were small but didn't like to go because there was nothing there for them. We made the decision to go to the "big town" (relatively speaking) and look for a new "home church" We went to quite a few churches and
I can't say we were treated poorly at any of them but some churches are definitely friendlier than others. We shopped ( I hated calling it that) most of one whole summer. Then one sunday we visited our now home church and something clicked. We walked out , got in the car, and my wife and I looked at one another and said "That's the One".
I realize this is getting too long, so I'll conclude by saying Is our church perfect ? No, Do the children make noise from time to time? Yes Has a cell every gone off in church ? Yes But I've never seen a group of people that tries as hard as this group does to get along. Today was Childrens Sunday and the kids conducted the whole service and I have to say it was one of the most moving services I've attended in along time. My kids are grown now but to me the children give the church the life and the love that Christ expected us to share with one another.
