The only food that "expires" is baby food. The rest has a "best by" date. The best by date is very short compared to an unfit to eat date. This is done on purpose to confuse people into throwing away food food and buying more to replace it. More money for the grocery and food processors. Dry and canned goods last almost forever in a suitable atmosphere.
