Mid Michigan | About 1944 when I was 10 a Holstein heifer was having problems giving birth so Dad called the vet. I stood back but was close enough to see and hear. The vet did and exam and said "I feel 2 heads" Then in a puzzled voice said "There is only one set of shoulders."
They pulled the calf with a turn a pull (I still have it). It was dead but had 2 heads, 4 eyes, 4 ears and the heads equal size joined together jut blow the ears. The Vet told Dad, "A carnival freak show will pay you good money for this dead calf." My Father replied, "I don't need that kind of money." and buried it. | |
