Well first of all that tax credit isn't in itself a refund. Secondly, it applies to all income levels.


I guess taking tax deductions when your poor is tacky but when you're rich it's good business acumen.


They aren't talking about deductions. They are talking about earned income credit, child tax credit, etc. Not applicable to those over a certain income. Son of a co-worker was a bum, worked just enough part time jobs to buy cigarettes, booze, etc. Get a few coins in his pocket and he'd quit working for a while. 3-4 kids by different mothers . But he always got several thousand in "refunds".
