How is that fair? The poor person still pays dramatically higher percentages of their income for the same poor lifestyle?
It’s fair because I say it is.
To use your basis for fairness, anyway.
What difference does it make if a high earner spends a small percentage of their income on themselves? They’re taxed for their lifestyle just like the low earner.
Furthermore, the remainder of their income is evidently reinvested, creating more opportunities for everyone to make money. Isn’t that what we should want?
