Subject: sand road needs reinforcement

Got a problem. I sold the sand on a hill on the farm. Guy said that it would take 2-3 years to move the hill. It is located next to a highway. After one day of digging the dump trucks were falling through the sand. Even the drive coming off the highway is causing problems. We put a load of large rocks in the drive but trucks are still falling through. It is so sandy the trucks just push the rocks down. These are big rocks, some are nearly a foot in diameter. I have read a little about Geotextiles. It is a mesh that is buried and the rocks are put on top. Website states that is good for soft roads with this kind of problem. Anyone ever used geotextiles? Does it work? Any other solutions.? Trucks weigh around 65,000 lbs. It is really the problem of the dirt business who bought the hill. Just trying to give him some ideas.
