East of Broken Bow
If I sounded like I was complaining that 'the man' was holding me down, I apologize.

What I was trying to explain is that if you were to follow the tax code and Obamacare costs there is a place where you can change your income by about 50K, and change what winds up in your pocket by less than 5K.

I can point you to someone that broke through the Obamacare income threshold by less than $500 for the year, and it would have cost him over $300 a MONTH in higher Obamacare costs, He was fortunate he did planning ahead of the end of the year to be able to come up with a bit more expense. I was trying to point out that for the 'average' person, the Obamacare expense, or lack thereof is a bigger deal than income tax is. (of which NO ONE knows how to compute, I have had several accountants tell me the same thing, you have to punch your numbers into the Obamacare website and see what comes out based on your individual numbers.

As to 'working the system', how is it any different than prepaying seed or fertilizer to minimize your tax burdeon?

If you have a high enough income that healthcare costs are not a concern, that puts you in the top 10% of wage earners. For various reasons, I don't fall in that category.
