Subject: RE: sand road needs reinforcement

Holland, Indiana (SW IN)
our one grain system is built on sand --I realize there are different levels of "sand" this was not a beach --the sand packed pretty good
6 or 7" of rock did ok but we added a triaxle load every year
put in a new drive over pit and new drive
One layer of Geotextile mat --I think there are different thicknesses of the mat (cheaper and more expensive)

We used the more expensive mat and 3" of #5 limestone As long as we stay on the mat haven't had any trouble --6 years of use no extra rock
Some one suggested 53's instead of the #5 rock --I'm not sure it matters

Easy to install and the mat wasn't THAT expensive or I would remember the price

Good luck

Dan
