Sheridan Mi | Not casting aspersions on your character, but that sounds like more talk radio nonsense. Who hires people and pays cash for any length of time unless it's illegal? If I hire somebody and pay cash, I can't deduct it as an expense, and I pay taxes on that money. The only time I ever hired anybody that way was to pay some neighbor kids to toss bales or pitch manure out of calf pens. I suppose you could mow lawns or something to make extra cash "under the table", but don't expect to get a regular job that way. I could pay somebody cash to work for me if they had a DBA, sure. Then there's be a paper trail and they'd have to pay their own taxes. They'd give me a bill, I'd pay them and they'd give me a receipt so I could deduct the expense.
I'm not saying that you believe there's some big underground cash economy, and yes, there's a huge one doing things that are illegal, but as far as legal, legitimate jobs, no. | |
