RR Valley, ND; MN native | 12yrs ago this week.
I was 46. He was on his death bed in the hospital and was not conscience. I had last talked with him on the phone about 2wks prior. Everyone had left the room but I stayed alone and held his hand until the last breath.
I felt I needed to do that as Dad had told me ~his~ dad, my grandpa, was dying and dad stayed with him in the room until the end (dad was 48 then, I was not there). I had last seen grandpa leaving the farm in an ambulance at age 15.
