My Dad was 70 when he died in 1989, I was 32. My mother died 2 years later, in 1991. My kids were born in 1984 and 85, so they at least got to meet their grandparents but I doubt if they have any memories.
Ask them; you might be surprised. I was born in 86, and my great-grandfathers passed in 1989 and 1990. I have a small snippet of a memory of each.
I remember playing with a matchbox van on the floor around my great-grandfather's legs. I was given that van around the same time, and still have it. The other great-grandfather was very hard of hearing. It startled me to hear my aunt yelling at him from across the room that his eggs were ready to eat. |
