My advice would be to take more income during the last years of actively farming. That way it would level out your income after you stop farming. It also helps pay down debt. We had our accountant run a spreadsheet on five different options for 5 years on liquidating our inventory going in to retirement. We use this to decide the best option. I retired at 63 and a half and have no regrets.
