![](http://www.newagtalk.com/mapdots/johnburns.jpg) Pittsburg, Kansas | I don't know as much as I should about legislation and appropriation. So I probably get this at least partially wrong.
Ron Paul was always a proponent of limited and smaller government and government spending.
He would catch flack being on the appropriations committee. His critics would say look at all the money YOU are spending.
He would say, once it is legislated, the money WILL be spent. After the money is already legislated spending it in the most logical appropriate way is the best that can be done. It was his job to appropriate it out in the best possible way.
I generally am for less government spending and smaller government. But if government money is offered and fits my needs, I agree with Ron Paul. If the money is going to be spent anyway, I can spend it back into the economy as good as the next guy.
