We have a thirteen week old berenese mountain dog puppy. Been feed him Iams large breed puppy food. His coat could be shinier and he seems a little itchy on the stuff. Any recommendations on better dog food for large dogs?
I'm a veterinarian for my off farm job, I feed my own pets and recommend for my patients Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canin or Purina Pro Plan.
Stay away from grain free foods, they have been causing heart problems in dogs that don't usually have them, it's likely there is an amino acid in grain that dogs need to keep their heart muscle healthy.
For shiny coat you can add some fish oil capsules, the omega 3 fatty acids are great for the coat and skin |
