With all of the new regulations, who knows if any of this is right now since the NCAA is the wild west with transfer portal and NIL money.

Used to be a player could declare for the draft and NOT hire an agent. If they went through the draft process (pro day workouts, combine, etc.) and the projections weren't what they liked (too low, not a "lottery" pick), they could withdraw from the draft and go back to school. If they get picked, yes the options are limited. WNBA is a little different though, pay is better overseas so they could just not play in the WNBA. Many WNBA players play in Europe in the winter and WNBA in the summer.

+1, WNBA has a cap of $75K for rookies, too.
