E.Central MN | I think the Costco shoppers must figure that it's less risky buying gold from Costco than from the jewelry/coin dealers that are advertising on tv. The financial people mention things like getting the gold item tested, insured, etc vs the safety aspect of buying an ETF, or other instrument. They didn't mention the risk of getting a piece of paper saying you own gold vs having the actual gold in your possession. I guess I'm not wealthy enough to need to diversify into precious metals, I do have a few piles of scrap iron and scrap copper though... | |
