I create files on my desktop PC for phone photos/videos. Hook your phone to the computer USB via the proper phone cord. Let it access your photo files. Download them to the PC then later delete them (if you want) from the phone. Start with the oldest first.

I also have a daily auto backup system (BackBlaze) for the PC to make sure they last somewhere forever (I hope!).
