My uncle, got married for the 1st time, at 56 yo, in 1993. He had just built a new house a couple years earlier for 120k. Had around 250k sitting in bank savings account. He was just gonna take a bunch of cash on honeymoon. He was advised by all his siblings to get cc and just have a little cash. Problem was no credit no card. The bank president got him one through the bank.
