Ne Iowa | The old wooden elevators are a bit of a fire hazard but they’re not the only elevators on the chopping block. Our local elevator was built in the 70’s and filled a very large void for grain sales. It was always a bustling place with grain sales, feed, and fertilizer. It’s like a ghost town there now, the farmer semis sail right on by on their way to the ethanol plants or soybean processors. I don’t know how much longer it will stay open. | |
