S.E. Sask. | I guess some would say I have wasted many hours of my life at farm auctions but they feel like good memories to me. Went to my first auction just over 50 years ago with my dad and uncle on a rainy cold fall day. Auctioneer only had a cane and big hat, no fancy sound trucks and multiple crew members running back and forth. If there was a ringman it was usually just a neighbour or two helping out. I could not even guess how many since then but Cvid put stop to it and they just don't come back once they go online it seems. Sure the trailer loads of "junk" could be time consuming but for those with patience and watching close you could find some real treasures in the pails and boxes. All kinds of weather from bone chilling cold to stifling heat. And of course mud. This one was Ituna, Sask. April 30, 2014. Weather was nice but definitely needed 4 wd to get around that yard.
