southern MN | Used to drive a route to visit my sister many times a year. She passed away in 2006 and so haven’t driven that road in years, it is mostly rural farm country until you get to the Cities.
Picked up a piece of farm machinery last year, and dang if I didn’t end up on part of that route. But I didn’t even recognize it. Couple of the farm stead’s were grown over in trees, couple of old barns weren’t there or were a pile, couple areas were ‘developed’, and so on. Many of the landmarks I used to navigate by were not there. Several intersections were rebuilt, redesigned.
Was kind of odd to see the changes to something that used to be familiar in only 17 years.
