I had a Deere 7100 and 7300 12 row that I used for years and a few years ago I switched to a CaseIH 1230, 12 row. I’m currently running 1550 acres with just this planter, for corn and beans. It seems this planter doesn’t wear as fast as the Deere’s I had in the past but it’s also much newer and different design. About 2/3’s of my acres are no till and the other 1/3, is ridge till. No sand on any of my farms. How many acres per row would y’all recommend and does it vary with brand?

Once again, your question is like asking how long to drive to Chicago?

You might get 300, or you might get 75. After a few disc and doing point changes, you might have yourself an average. Or, you might still have no idea.

Or, because I don’t know, I’m asking a question to folks with possibly more experience with the same or other planters. I gave my acreage and what or if no tillage. I may have left out, my soils are moderate to heavy. No rocks and as stated, no sand.
