West Central IA | If you have the equipment to make good quality hay when it is time go for it. Cost over the life of the stand is much less than row crops and this only works if you can find a home for your rained on hay. It could be your own cattle or someone else's but it needs to find a home. I have several hay customers that I sell to and feed the majority of it myself. Just can't bring myself to feed ditch hay and cornstalk succotash and expect top healthy calves. I have bought hay in the past, but it is a crap shoot. I prefer my own because I know exactly what I have in my rows of bales. Believe me looks are deceiving. | |
