Subject: RE: Hay Profitability

Fairbury, NE (Southeast)
Broker? Na.

Better to direct sell and pay yourself 5%.

In God we trust all others pay Cash.

Nothing leaves the farm without a good check or cash.

Get burned on a couple semi loads of hay and it will sour you quick vs a check from the elevator for corn.

Also consider this.

225 bu corn x 4.75 approaching 1100 with four field passes vs 150/ton hay at maybe 7 ton production with 15 passes.

As stated, the higher quality you can raise the better off it will go.

Chop the first cutting if you want to make 5 cuttings more practical.
