Nw Iowa | Agree with both on UNL and Northfork. Businesses have to adapt and evolve. A farming operation can remain constant and use up some of previous generations help to present generation but will not survive to a future generation. That would be my argument with Roberts OP. Also agree Agree you don’t have to run all over your neighbors but operation has to thrive, either by adding enterprises, maybe rely on outside income so money can go into farm for growth. If father decides he wants no risk, does not want to change, keep control until he is transported to the cemetery, there is almost zero chance next generation will do anything but sell out and give up. | |
