Subject: Corn Ratings Math

Northwest IL
Math was my favorite subject in school. It is either the right or wrong answer, luckily I could get the right answer. A closer look at the numbers yesterday, using 90 million as a target for acres. Still need to plant 8.1 million acres, of the 81.9 million planted 60.6 is emerged. Good to excellent is 45.45 million acres then. Looks like half the crop is off to a good start then. The other half has 15 million acres up and going ok, 21 million acres that is not yet emerged and another 8 million not in the ground. I’m not saying this is bullish or bearish. Big picture wise it’s just a huge growing area and this is why an average crop is always a good starting point in my opinion versus record, record, record being thrown at us every year.
