ec mn | I can't vouch for the efficiency of the new units. Mine is 26 years old, so getting close to end of life I would think. I have had my lockout temp set at 35* since new. Mine will not make enough heat any lower than that. My primary heating unit is an LP furnace. Our co-op has a special rate for heat pump/AC so it is metered separately from the rest of the house. I will replace it with a similar unit when the time comes.
